Bodensee Erlebniskarte: Lake Constance Experience Card - for your adventures!

My advice if it`s your first visit at Lake Constance and if you want to experience a lot: buy a Bodensee Erlebniskarte (okay, let`s call it LCEC = Lake Constance Experience Card)!
There are three versions of it: LCEC for Landratten (landsmen), for Seebären (shellbacks) and for Sparfüchse (scrimpers). Let me tell you in just a few words about the differences between them:

Landratten / Seebären / Sparfüchse – all of them

Lots of museums (like Schulmuseum Friedrichshafen or Napoleonmuseum Schloss Arenenberg for example), indoor swimming pools and lidos, guided city tours in several towns around Lake Constance, going by Bergbahn (mountain railway) Rorschach-Heiden in Switzerland… and many, many other things: if you have got a Lake Constance Experience Card, you don`t have to pay the entrances/tickets.

Only Landratten/Seebären:

Furthermore, entrances to SeaLife Konstanz, Zeppelin-Museum Friedrichshafen, Alte Burg Meersburg (shown at the photo), Affenberg Salem, Schloss Salem, Pfahlbaumuseum Unteruhldingen as well as tickets for the Pfänder-Seilbahn (ropeway  at the Pfänder) and Säntis Schwebebahn (suspension railroad at the mountain Säntis) are included!
If you have got an “Sparfüchse”-Erlebniskarte, you here only get a 30% discount on entrance fees (the same holds true for Mainau where “Landratten” and “Seebären” have to pay the normal admission price).

Only Seebären/Sparfüchse:

Feel free to go by ship for free! The Lake Constance Experience Cards “Seebären” and “Sparfüchse” also are tickets in refer to the ships regularly going at Lake Constance (excluding private shipping lines and ferries).
The “Sparfüchse”-LCEC is useful if it isn`t your first trip to Lake Constance and if you don`t want to visit some of the “30%-attractions” for a second time. You should buy the “Landratten”-LCEC if you don`t like going by ship. (Hey, what you`re doing at Lake Constance? Just a joke: of course, you can visit nearly all attraction without being forced to take a ship!)

The “Seebären”-Bodensee-Erlebniskarte would be my recommendation: it`s just too practical! Shipping and entrance fees are included (just excluding Mainau) so you don`t have to take too much money with you and mustn`t always think: “Hopefully the €uros I`m taking with me will last! I hope the entrance fees won`t be too expensive…”

All three versions of Lake Constance Experience Card can be bought as a 3-days-lasting card, a 7-days-lasting card and a 14-days-lasting card.

Prices in 2012 are:

Seebären: 72€/86 CHF for three days (children [between the age of 6 and 15]: 36€/43 CHF); 92€/110 CHF for seven days (children: 46€/55 CHF); 130€/156 CHF for 14 days (children: 66€/79 CHF)

Landratten: 40€/48 CHF for three days (children: 20€/24 CHF; 52€/62 CHF for seven days (children: 26€/31 CHF); 62€/74 CHF for 14 days (children: 31€/37 CHF)

Sparfüchse: 54€/65 CHF for three days (children [between the age of 6 and 15]: 27€/32 CHF; 77€/92 CHF for seven days (children: 39€/47 CHF); 120€/144 CHF for 14 days (children: 55€/66 CHF)

Children under age of 6 don`t have to pay nearly everywhere so they don`t need such an Experience Card. But if you buy an adult LCEC, your younger children will get a “Mini`s LCEC” for free so that they also can proudly show their own badge!
